An Honour Book in the 2006 Children’s Book Council of Australia Book of the Year Awards (Early Childhood section), Kisses for Daddy was the first book David Legge illustrated digitally.
Prior to this, David Legge’s Bamboozled was a runaway bestseller, as well as an Honour Book in the 1995 Children’s Book Council of Australia’s Book of the Year Awards, and won children’s choice awards in six states.
David’s whimsical humour and exuberant wit are evident in all his books, including Rise and Shine, Tom Goes to Kindergarten, and the 2004 CBCA shortlisted book, Baby Boomsticks.
Since Kisses for Daddy, David has been contributing illustrations for the School Magazine, producing book jackets and scribbling down ideas for his next picture book.
The story and beautiful illustrations in this book perfectly capture the magical moments between a father and child as they play, giggle and express affection. Even though the characters are bears, it’s their wonderful humanity that makes this book so sweet.
