Duncan Ball is one of Australia’s most popular children’s writers. Originally from the United States, Duncan came to Australia in 1974 and worked in chemical research for many years. Duncan now works as a full-time writer and lives in Sydney.

Selby is constantly nominated for various Australian children’s choice awards, and most recently Selby Stardom was named the winner (top-ranked Australian book) in the Young Readers’ Section of the West Australian Young Readers’ Book Award (WAYBRA), as well as being shortlisted for the KOALA, YABBA, COOL and Children’s Choice Book Awards.
