Gabrielle Lord's first novel, Fortress, was translated into six languages and made into a successful film.  Since then she has published a number of best-selling novels, including, Lethal Factor, Baby Did a Bad Bad Thing, Death Delights, Feeding the Demons, The Sharp End, Whipping Boy, Tooth and Claw and Jumbo. 

She has adapted several of her novels for the screen.   Death Delights won the 2002 Ned Kelly Award for Best Crime Novel and Baby Did a Bad Bad Thing was joint-winner in the 2003 Davitt Award for crime writing and was shortlisted for the Ned Kelly Award for Best Crime Novel 2003.
